Flowers for sale.

This past weekend I took a sweet trip to the LA Flower District with my friend Nara and it was all a dream. I've lived in LA for almost 4 years and I had not taken any chances to venture out to that part of town.

Nara is getting married next month so we were looking at flower options for her ceremony & reception. Oh the possibilities once we stepped foot into the warehouse of flowers at 8:30am on Saturday morning!

Towards the end of the "horticultural trip" we knew what color scheme we wanted to tackle. We left with different types of flowers to test out in different vases of different sizes.

I absolutely love flowers, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I give every single florist so much credit for what they do! It's not easy! Plus most of them are up before dawn making a mad dash to the market!

P.S. Photos weren't allowed in many parts of the warehouse, but I will soon post the different style arrangements we came up with later that evening!

So pretty.

My boss passed on a gorgeous arrangement of flowers to me since she was leaving town and now it's making my apartment glow!

This is a design arrangement I haven't see before. This florist used tree bark to decorate the vase interior! So FALL and so gorgeous.

Definitely feeling like the fall

The use of tree bark in this fall themed arrangement is so clever!

Nice day for a White weddin'.

Over the weekend I was able to be a part of another amazing wedding. I couldn't believe the day for Raquel (now Mrs. White) to marry the love of her life finally arrived! It was a busy 8 months for her and I'm glad she's now able to relax in the Jamaican sun!

She looked gorgeous and flawless. She had a glow around her the whole day!

Raq gave me the privilege of making all of the bouquet's for the big day. She chose hydrangeas for her flowers which is always a good choice. Hydrangeas remind me of hundreds of little butterflies fluttering in the air in er...flocks? (would that be what you would call a group of butterflies?). They come in stem bunches which is fantastic bc you don't need very many stems to make a decent size bouquet! She also had 11 white roses and a few mini green hydrageas to add to her all white arrangement. The bride is always supposed to steal the show, and Raquel definately did just that!

Raquel, minutes after she said "I Do"!

p.s. I promise to post more photos from the big day!
