Nice evening for Italian Wedding SOUP.

This evening, unlike many evenings (due to long evenings at work) I decided to make an easy dinner. Turned out to be tasty..AND it's only less than 150 calories for a cup & a half! {but of course indulge!!!}

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb uncooked ground turkey breast
  • 1 large egg white, lightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp dried bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 8 cups fat-free chicken broth
  •  2 cups escarole, thinly sliced (I used spinach instead)
  • 1/2 cups onion, sweet-variety, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup shredded carrots (I didn't use carrots)

  • In a medium bowl, combine turkey, egg white, bread crumbs, cheese, oregano and garlic powder; shape into 3/4-inch balls.

  • In a large saucepan, heat broth to boiling; stir in escarole, onion, carrot and meatballs. Return soup to boiling and then reduce heat to medium; cook at a slow boil for 15 minutes. Soup is done when meatballs float to the top and escarole is wilted. Yields about 1 1/2 cups of soup and 5 to 6 meatballs per serving.

Flowers for sale.

This past weekend I took a sweet trip to the LA Flower District with my friend Nara and it was all a dream. I've lived in LA for almost 4 years and I had not taken any chances to venture out to that part of town.

Nara is getting married next month so we were looking at flower options for her ceremony & reception. Oh the possibilities once we stepped foot into the warehouse of flowers at 8:30am on Saturday morning!

Towards the end of the "horticultural trip" we knew what color scheme we wanted to tackle. We left with different types of flowers to test out in different vases of different sizes.

I absolutely love flowers, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I give every single florist so much credit for what they do! It's not easy! Plus most of them are up before dawn making a mad dash to the market!

P.S. Photos weren't allowed in many parts of the warehouse, but I will soon post the different style arrangements we came up with later that evening!

{Coxcombs, Mums, & Dahlias are a few types of flowers that we loved!}

Swept away in Greece.

Hi SPD Followers. Here's another one of my invite design pages.

Zoe & Sean came to me wanting something different for their destination wedding in Santorini! They met through a mutual friend who worked with the both of them!

We brainstormed on a few ideas (see one of them here), but this design ended up being the one they chose. Yes, I did burn the edges to all 100 invites. Turned out pretty neat!

So pretty.

My boss passed on a gorgeous arrangement of flowers to me since she was leaving town and now it's making my apartment glow!

This is a design arrangement I haven't see before. This florist used tree bark to decorate the vase interior! So FALL and so gorgeous.

Definitely feeling like the fall

The use of tree bark in this fall themed arrangement is so clever!

As promised.

A friend made it clear to me that I never followed through with a previous post of a wedding I was in over 2 months ago! I promised I would post more photos from Raquel & Nate's union. My goodness how time flies!

Below are a few photos taken by a professional photographer (that is not me).

Raquel & Nate's wedding was a very sweet union & I got to be a part of it. Such a sweet couple & dear friends...who are actually my next door neighbors!

Yes, I am that neighbor that has to borrow sugar & milk...

Enjoy!

Cupcake Princess.

I've seen many beautiful cupcakes in my time, but I have yet to see a cupcake dressed up in this beautiful wrapper. Wrappers are laser cut on heavy stock paper and easy to assemble.

Cupcakes have never looked better! So sweet!

Voila!

Here's the first set of invites I'm posting!

I met w/ Ju & Dave (now The Kims') a few times before a design was chosen. Both were equally involved in the process which made my job a lot easier!

Ju & Dave actually were one of my first clients and they continue to be dear friends to me. Ju has been an inspiration for me. She motivates me more and more every time I see her!

The Kim's had a fall wedding in Malibu, California.

An intimate union.

Two friends of mine, Christina & Paul tied the knot this past weekend and not only was it a beautiful intimate wedding, but Christina's dress was unbelievably beautiful! She looked breathtaking.

The leaf detail was my favorite.

My friend, Allison always looks darling. I had to post her Audrey-inspired look.

Kathy & Alex are tying the knot in March 2010!

CONGRATS YOU TWO! Thank you for making me a part of your beautiful day!

Put it on a pedistal.

I hit up the ROSE BOWL FLEA MARKET with a friend  last weekend and I wasn't sure of what I was looking for, but lately it's been items/knick-knacks for my apartment. I swear, having your own place is like having your own child!

Since I've been going through a kitchen phase, I was in awe, when I laid my eyes on a beautiful glass cake stand WITH A LID! It's super sweet and  I had to have it. Plus it was only $10 bucks! What a deal!

I love that I can have my cakes on display now!

Cake stands make a great registry gift! Think of all the beautiful cakes the new wife can can make!

A little Aid in the kitchen.

Whether you're single or getting married or are married, everyone needs to invest in a little help in the kitchen. That is a KITCHEN AID MIXER! My wonderful boss gave me a gift certificate to Williams-Sonoma for my b-day and I knew exactly what I wanted to get! It's beautiful, it's great, and it's my baby!

The one question everyone has asked me...even the sales person that sold me the mixer..."What's the first thing you're going to make?"....

I'm dreaming of "high peaks..."
